Farm
Weed Dance Farm is located on 15
acres of natural wooded land complete with farmhouse, barn, chicken
house and pond. It is located near Gobles, Michigan, about 20
minutes west of Kalamazoo.
| Shawna Greenway has been initiated by herbalist
Susun Weed as a "woman whose art is her life and life is her
art," and
is dedicated to connecting women to the green world and the wise healer
within. She has studied herbs and nutrition for ten years and has
taken classes and intensives with a number of noted herbalists such as
Nancy Phillips, Kate Gilday, Jeannine Parvati Baker, Rosita Arvigo, as
well as a student of Rosemary Gladstar's "Art and Science of
Herbalism". She is a multi year Green Goddess apprentice of Susun
Weed's as well as serving as her kitchen cook and a past moderator on
her website. Her ultimate teachers are the plants themselves, and time
spent in the wild. |

She
has taught classes for four years in the Wise Woman Tradition and is
interested in sharing her enthusiasm for simple, common, abundant weeds
and the lifestyle medicine they offer as food and medicine. She also
teaches classes on a variety of traditional foodways including
cheesemaking and lactofermentation. |
Shawna is currently dedicating
herself to creating sacred and nourishing green space for women of all
ages on the fifteen acres she owns with her family, along with the busy
work and joy of raising a garden, various farm animals, and
homeschooling her two sons. |
